Monsiah Tataiya

Meet Monsiah Tataiya – she is a mother to four children. The oldest three, Deborah, Santieh and Mediara, currently attend Little Wlebo Public School. Monsiah and her family are refugees from the Ivory Coast.

Monsiah migrated to Liberia in 2011 after the political crisis in her home country. Although it’s been a very difficult time, she is extremely happy about the progress her children have made at school.

She explains that they have got so much better at English, and now they can help her and translate things she doesn’t understand.

Although the crisis has ended and Monsiah feels that it would now be safe to return to the Ivory Coast, she has decided to remain in Liberia. The opportunity for a good education for her children cannot be passed up, she says.
