Teacher Training and Methodology

Bridge Liberia believes that all teachers can be effectively trained and supported, even in the most remote and hardest to reach counties; such as the southeast.

Every Bridge Liberia supported teacher not only goes through an intensive induction training program before they returning to the classroom but they also receive continuous support, coaching and professional development

“We should support innovation to enable us succeed; we should support partners who have accepted the challenge to help us solve this education problem; it is serious, and we must deal with it seriously”

Vice President of Liberia – Jewel Howard Taylor, 2018

Teacher training provides a foundational platform where Bridge Liberia supported teachers can hone new classroom techniques and absorb a new teaching philosophy, known to improve learning. Once they complete training and go back into the classroom, a network of academic supervisors and learning and development professionals are regularly in classrooms, observing lessons, and giving constructive feedback. In addition, all school leaders are trained to provide active feedback and coaching to help drive continuous improvement. All of this is supported through a technology platform which supports improved accountability and professionalism.
